The New Honda Accord 2009 Black Colour

The next generations from Honda in this Year. This is Hoinda Accord 2009. Eighth generation of Honda Accord is very near to its release. So how would 2009 Honda Accord Coupe that is going to be launched around the spring or summer of 2008 look like.We have very little information on that but what we could claim is that it would very much resemble 2009 Honda Accord Coupe Concept, revealed in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.We could very much expect a choice between 4-cylinder engine and a V6. The next generation V6 (with Honda’s i-VTEC variable valve timing) is going to be more fuel efficient as claimed by company. V6 with its Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology will surely make it possible as the technology de-activates every other cylinder when the car is cruising under light load to reduce fuel consumption. Once higher power is required engine runs with its all the cylinder activated.There is no doubt for the safety features of the future Honda Accord Coupe due to Honda’s Safety for everyone initiative. Honda has set up a baseline of safety features for all its future models. 2009 Honda Accord Coupe will be for sure have front and side-impact airbags for people sitting at front seats, the curtain style head protection airbags for both front and rear would fall in the basic safety features. The electronic stability control and advanced anti-lock brakes presence could not be denied. ACE i.e. Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure would be present which incorporates a front-end frame structure primarily designed to wholly soak up and dissolve crash energy over a big area in case of a frontal collision.

Honda City 2009

The Honda City 2009 priced at around RM90,000. The car’s refundable booking fee is RM2,000. There are 5 colors available, if I remember correctly: gold, silver, black, blue, and “polished metal metalic” (like gray).

I picked blue because it is special and unique. Honda City 2009 is the first Honda car with the color. For your information, there is NO red color Honda City 2009 in Malaysia.

I have a driving license 10 years ago, but I never drive a car since then. I will need some practices of driving before receiving my Honda City 2009.

For the past years, my friends and family have been fetching me here and there. I owe them too much. It is my turn to be their driver to pay them back. Also, many friends are looking forward to sit in my car

2009 Perodua MPV Rendered Speculation

The upcoming Perodua MPV is still pretty far off, set to roll off the production lines only in September 2009, but here is a rendered speculation by Theophilus Chin of how it will might look like. Based on an existing Toyota compact MPV, the styling for this three row MPV rendering is largely based off the Perodua Viva.

Perodua CEO Datuk Hafiz mentioned in an interview with The Edge Weekly earlier this year that we should think of the new Perodua MPV as a smaller Toyota Wish that will have three rows and sit 6 people comfortably (probably not 7 because of a Perodua’s typically compact size and thus reduced width).

It will be based on the recently announced new Indonesian-based MPV model that was announced in March this year and is currently still under development by Toyota and Daihatsu. Perodua will apply its own styling onto the model.

Official Toyota Vios pricelist!

UMW Toyota Motor has prices for the new second generation Toyota Vios up on its website. There has been a small drop in prices from the estimated values announced earlier at the media preview.

The top of the line Toyota Vios 1.5S is going for RM88,100 - down from the estimated RM88,600 announced earlier. The mid range Toyota Vios 1.5G goes for RM84,800, down from RM85,300 and finally the baseline Toyota Vios 1.5E now retails at RM78,700 - a RM200 drop to the previous RM78,900 price.

Toyota Camry with Aerokit available in Malaysia

Toyota is now offering the Toyota Camry in a new colour and with a new aerokit, of which both is shown above. The new colour is called White Pearl CS (070), with CS being an acronym for crystal. The new colour is only offered on the Toyota Camry 2.0G and the Toyota Camry 2.4V. Specifying this colour will cost an extra RM800.

As for the new Toyota Camry aerokit, it can be fitted on all models and all colours, but only as a factory-fit. Aftermarket retrofitting for existing Toyota Camry owners is not possible as Toyota says it will tamper with the vehicle’s original specifications as approved by Toyota Motor Co Japan. The aerokit is optional and costs RM2,200. It consists of a front lip, a rear lip, side skirts and a trunk lid spoiler. Warranty for the aerokit follows the Camry’s 3 year or 100,000km warranty.

Toyota Land Cruiser V8 launched in the UK

The new 8th generation Toyota Land Cruiser V8 has replaced its predecessor the Land Cruiser Amazon in the UK market. It continues the Land Cruiser’s trademark body on frame construction, which Toyota says tackles tough terrain better.

The new Land Cruiser V8 is powered by a new 4.5 liter D-4D common rail turbodiesel V8 engine. It produces 282 horsepower and 650Nm from a low 1,600rpm. It is engineered to work in temperatures from -30 to 50 degrees Celcius. It channels power through a 6-speed automatic gearbox with manual sequential gear selection and a set of low ratios. New to the Land Cruiser is the worlds first four-wheel Active Height Control and Adaptive Variable Suspension (4-Wheel AHC & AVS), a fully adjustable system that also provides spring rate control. It enhances wheel articulation to a point that the Land Cruiser is able to crawl over steps with a 630mm height difference without lifting a wheel off the ground! The Land Cruiser is also able to switch from H4 to the L4 set of low ratios without stopping - at up to speeds of 4.8 km/h.

The interior seats 7, and occupants are protected by 14 airbags including front knee airbags and curtain shield airbags along the entire length of the cabin. Creature comforts include four-zone climate control air conditioning, full-map satellite navigation, Bluetooth, rear parking monitor, nine-speaker sound system with six-DVD autochanger and leather upholstery. The ICE may be upgraded to an optional JBL audio system with iPod integration and rear LCD screens for watching DVDs.

Toyota uses TomTom for in-car GPS navigation

Toyota is now offering an integrated GPS navigation unit in the Toyota Yaris SR in the UK market, making it the first B-segment Toyota hatchback in the UK to offer such equipment in that segment.

The 2-DIN head-unit slots right into the space on the Yaris dashboard, and the head unit is badged Toyota, while the removable portable GPS unit is from TomTom. This Toyota-TomTom GPS unit is actually a rebadged Eclipse AVN2210p, and the integrated TomTom GPS is a TomTom DUO, powered by a SiRFstarIII GPS chipset. You can remove the TomTom Duo from the car and use it to navigate while you are walking, or whatever reason you might want to use it out of your car.

The new head unit offers 3.5 inch touch screen operation, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free, and USB connection for MP3 players. It can also interface with an iPod.

Honda is another Japanese car maker who has paired up with an existing GPS navigation equipment manufacturer - the Gathers Honda infotainment and GPS system that was offered with Honda Accords purchased in December last year is based on a Garmin unit. Volvo Malaysia also offers Volvo-branded Garmin GPS units in their cars.
